In November 2019, a new "Shanghai Guide", Guia de Shanghai, was published by the Miguel de Cervantes Library of Shanghai. Since the beginning of this Research Project, this is the second time that this guide has been reissued. The first was in 2010, in conjunction with the Shanghai World Expo Fair.
A few pages have once again been dedicated to the exceptional figure of Abelardo Lafuente. On pages 16 and 17, under the title "La Huella Española," along with a brief history of some of the city's other most famous figures, such as Antonio Ramos and Albert Cohen.
This new edition demonstrates the enormous interest in this little-known part of Spanish history in Asia, which is already well-known in Shanghai but remains unknown in Spain.
