In March 2025, a new "Shanghai Guide", Guia de Shanghai, was published by the Cervantes Institute of Shanghai. Since the beginning of this Research Project, this is the third time that this guide has been reissued. The first was in 2010 in conjunction with the Shanghai World Expo Fair, the second was in 2019, and this one is the third time, a 2025 edition.
A few pages have once again been dedicated to the exceptional figure of Abelardo Lafuente. On pages 22, 23, and 24, under the title "La Huella de España," along with a brief history of some of the city's other most famous figures, such as Antonio Ramos and Albert Cohen.
This new edition demonstrates the enormous interest in this little-known part of Spanish history in Asia, which is already well-known in Shanghai but remains unknown in Spain. Hopefully, with these new efforts, more and more architects and historians will take note of this achievement.
