Overnight at the Crossroads of Shanghai. Abelardo Lafuente published in Built Heritage magazine from Tongji Architectural Group.

In September 2019, a new article about Abelardo Lafuente and his works in Shanghai at the iconic hospitality sector, mainly with his hotel refurbishments and Dance Halls for the "Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels Ltd" was published by the prestigious academic journal "BUILT HERITAGE" administrated by the Ministry of Education of PRC and Co-sponsored by Tongji Architectural Design (Group), Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., Arcplus Group PLC, World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region under the Auspices of UNESCO (WHITRAP), Shanghai Construction No.4 (Group) Co. Ltd..

This journal is only in English, is volume number 03, and it is the special issue number 3.

This publication was directed by the American Professor Rosemary Wakeman from the "History Department & Urban Studies Program, Fordham University, New York, United States" and organized a great magazine with some of the most relevant researchers in the city over the last five years. Professors and researchers such as Yongyi Lu & Yanning Li, Andrew Field, Mark Frazier and James Farrer. Articles as "Defining Local Heritages in Preserving Modern Shanghai Architecture" or "Building Shanghai’s Dreamworld: Architects and Elite Ballroom Designs of the 1920s and 1930s" that were balancing very well with the article written by Alvaro Leonardo-Perez about this research project named: "Overnight at the Crossroads: Abelardo Lafuente's Architectural Legacy for 'The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd.' in Shanghai".

It is one of the most relevant articles that has been widely disseminated since its publication, not only because of the journal from a prestigious University in China but also because the BH Editorial Team managed to be the first indexed journal in Asia, and their published articles from 2019 became part of Springer Nature Archive and it is available to many fellow researchers all over the world and through ORCID Platform.
