Lecture at Tongji University (CAUP) in Shanghai

A very relevant Abelardo Lafuente lecture was held at Tongji University Campus in Shanghai last November 7 th 2023.

Following the increasing interest from students, academic researchers, and Professors in China in Dr. Arch Alvaro Leonardo-Perez 2019 PhD dissertation at "Universidad Alcala de Henares" (Madrid) about Old Shanghai Spanish Architecture, the Built Heritage Editorial  (Built Heritage 建成遗产) Team Donghai Zhu (who worked together with Dr. Leonardo-Perez back in 2019 to publish his first article in ENG-CHN about his findings: https://rb.gy/66076t) invited the Spanish Dr. Architect to give a lecture at the Tongji University at CAUP "College of Architecture and Urban Planning" (同济大学建筑与城市规划学院) Building D, Lecture Hall D1 (College of Architecture and Urban Planning) with successful results.

Under the name: "Abelardo Lafuente, the Spanish architect who loved China and Shanghai's charm" (阿贝拉多·拉富恩特: 爱上一座城) Dr. Leonardo-Perez presented a special detailed lecture focusing on #heritage and conservation for the attendees to understand the relevance of these works as these buildings are "Chinese Architectural Heritage" to be understood as a shared work between both cultures. The lecture was attended by different relevant Tongji Professors who showed great interest in the topic. They understood how relevant these works are when listening to the detailed explanations and seeing the photos comparing heritage in Spain and these buildings in China.

This research project and Dr. Leonardo-Perez would like to, especially thank the enthusiasm shown by such relevant researchers and Professors as Ms. Dr. Lu Yongyi (the author of the famous book "Architecture and Modernity: Critical (Chinese edition)"), Ms. Dr. Zhu Xiaoming, and Ms. Dr. Hua Xiahong (the writer of the famous book "Shanghai Hudec Architecture") among others attending as Mr. Liu Kan, Mr. Liu Chang, and the Professor presenting Ms. Dr. Li Yingchun.
