Promenade dedicated to Abelardo in Madrid

On June 11, on a sunny morning in Fuentidueña de Tajo (Madrid), the new promenade was inaugurated, creating a new urban thoroughfare in the town and connecting the street of the Virgen de la Alarilla Public School with the "Villa de Fuentidueña" Performing Arts Center, located in the town's former cinema, a particularly significant event. The event was attended by numerous prominent figures from both countries, including His Excellency Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China, Yao Jing, the Deputy Government Delegate of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, the Mayor José Antonio Domínguez and his key council members, as well as various representatives from the Catedra China Foundation, who facilitated contact between the researcher and architect Dr. Alvaro Leonardo and city officials, thus initiating such an important cultural relationship for both countries, were all present.

The event was comprehensive and moving, featuring the architect's grandchildren who unveiled the commemorative plaque. Afterwards, they moved to the main auditorium for a short talk for the school children and other residents who wished to attend, sharing the life and work of their neighbor and explaining how he came to Shanghai to achieve unprecedented success more than a century ago. Subsequently, all the authorities spoke with heartfelt words, and the event concluded with a gift ceremony and a Spanish wine reception, highlighting the significance of such a milestone.
