Exhibit at Spain Pavilion CIIE 2023 Fair in Shanghai

After many months of coordinated work between Abelardo Lafuente Research Project, Biblioteca Cervantes Shanghai, and ICEX Architecture and Fairs an excellent "Spain Pavilion" was built by Noe China at the central NECC Plaza of the Hongqiao "National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai)" holding the 6th CIIE 2023 (China International Import Expo) named "New Era, Shared Future" from Nov 5th to Nov 10th, 2023.

The "SPAIN Pavilion" was smartly and conveniently organized in two main areas on both sides of a typical "Spanish Andalusian Patio" which always attracts attention from attendees. These two areas were a "Commercial" and a "Cultural" and each one was divided into smaller spaces dedicated to different topics (see map photo).

At "Commercial Area", ICEX and ICEX Next organized spaces for Turespaña, LALIGA, a streaming area for interviews with Spanish companies having commercial interests in China, and a lounge-meeting space to gather and discuss all shared opportunities. This streaming space is being of great success having online interviews with all Spanish companies at CIIE 2023 and the Spanish architectural offices.

At the "Cultural Area", Instituto Cervantes organized spaces to show first their work in China and all the relevant cultural activities on their agenda. Another space was dedicated to Spanish architectural offices present in Shanghai as EMBT Architects, 100architects, and Ortiz Leon Arquitectos, each one having a dedicated screen to show their projects in China and their future commitments and projects.

Finally, another area was dedicated to a special exhibit about the life and works of Abelardo Lafuente which has been an honor to prepare and organize being all in Spanish and Chinese languages. The space was divided into three walls: one for the 2021 Official Lafuente Documentary (available HERE on the YouTube Channel of Abelardo Lafuente) together with a QR code to our WeChat account. The second wall was designed with his portrait and professional career together with his building sketches which will be used this year as Cervantes Shanghai merchandise. The third wall shows the most relevant "still standing works" in the city.

All the exhibit is directly opening to the main NECC Plaza and it is one of the main Pavilion's attractions together with the large external LED screen bringing many curious people to read and watch the #oldshanghai images.

Visit "SPAIN Pavilion" at CIIE2023 if you are in Shanghai as this Friday, Nov 10th will be open to the public and it is really close to Exit 6 from Line 2 end station.
