It is a “Beach Hotel” building on Sepulveda Boulevard (Los Angeles) on a plot of about 9 acres (36,400m2) in area. It is mentioned in a letter between partners from 1927 and whose most significant details are reproduced below:
I send you with this letter a number of finished plans for the Hotel in Los Angeles:
"One floor plan with area of 9 acres, but this area could be more small if you will remove the street more near to the building, 2) one plan of the first (main) floor, elaborated now according to the small sketch N. Y. I like very much this plan and I think that you will find it good, practical and luxurious in same time; the Lobby, Dining Room & Café like a gallery (sic) all around the walls, with the central high part open from the floor to the ceiling through both floors. The mezzanine floor in the Lobby includes the library & writing room upstairs and the other necessary rooms for the hotel office, where you going up the two small staircases. The Palm Court is in the same time a tea room, nice decorated. As you can see from many of the named rooms you can go very convenient to the Ball room, located central. [...]"
