Disappeared but accesses at Nanjing West Road & Beijing West Road (former Bubbling Well Road & Avenue Road )
This is probably the most famous and recognizable project of Abelardo Lafuente's work in Shanghai, but paradoxically it is one of those that disappeared the earliest. It was an interior refurbishment of the Mac Bain Family mansion for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd. The whole renovation project included all dining rooms, halls, bedrooms, and all the public spaces. It also included the new Ballroom under the same name.
