It is one of the first buildings made by Abelardo Lafuente as a Procurement House for Spanish missions in Shanghai. It was located very far from the center of the city, although still within the "American Settlement" and was the center of operations of the Augustinian Fathers. In said façade a clear influence of the Madrid eclecticisms of the end of the 19th century and of the Spanish suburban palaces can be observed.
The façade is neoclassical in composition with a plinth that elevates it. In the lower part of it, it uses a base of padded voussoirs and composed of four semicircular openings. In the upper part it uses four flat windows with curved corners and their own balustrades. The finish of this is a simple cornice and a four-sided roof since the plant seems to be quite square. On the right side of the photo, an annex for the entrance can be seen with the same compositional characteristics as the main rear façade.
